Namitha Profile, Biography, Information


Born and brought up in Bombay, Namitha entered the Telugu film industry via the Tamil route. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a housewife. She is actually a Malayali and was introduced into the film industry first by Malayalam film director Siddhique. She became popular with the tamil version of the film Engal Anna.

Miss India contest brought Namitha to telugu film industry. After entering Tollywood, she immediately grabbed the attention of telugu film lovers with her action in both Sontam and Gemini though the films didn't fare well in the box office.

Namitha loves White and Black colors. White roses are her favorite flowers. She swims and plays Badminton in her leisure. Interestingly she used to coach swimming for kids. Namitha reads Novels of Sidney Sheldon and prefers reading Comics.

Coming to films, Namitha likes Nandita Das, Tabu, Paresh Rawal. She likes Animals and Birds as well.

Namitha in Tollywood :

This voluptuous actress, originally a Malayalee by birth initially caught the attention of the Tollywood filmmakers in Hyderabad, where she came to attend a Miss India contest. She did a couple of Telugu movies opposite some big actors. Although the movies did not fare very well at the box office, her beauty caught the attention of some big name directors and soon she was flooded with offers from all over South India.

Tall, sexy and glamorous Namitha today is often popularly referred as the 'South Indian Sex Bomb'. This hot Tamil bombshell honed her acting skills over the years and is a much better actor than what she was when she started. Initially she was only appreciated for her gorgeous beauty but today she is receiving credit for her acting capabilities as well. She has a huge fan following in South India. Over the recent years she has acted in almost all South Indian language movies. Till date has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films. Namitha has the credit of acting with almost all the big name actors in South India. Recently Namitha also appeared in an English film 'Maya' directed by Manning. The glam-doll of Tamil cinema has recently shed a lot of weight and is looking much fitter and beautiful now and is very optimistic about her future and success in the movie industry.
