New Wave Of Apple Wonders Coming Our Way On September 9

Apple’s entire iPod line appears to be getting a makeover this fall, with new designs and updates coming our way as soon as this September. No, it’s not official, it’s just a rumor, started by Kevin Rose, site architect for Digg and co-founder of Pownce.

Here is what Rose predicts for September 9: revamp of the entire iPod line, with small design changes in Touch and a complete makeover for Nano; price cuts for iPods “to distance from the $199 iPhone;” iPod touch 2.1 software, followed by an iPhone update as well; and iTunes 8.0, which he called “a big update.”

Rose did not say anything about his sources, but he seemed pretty convinced of the inside information he had. In a video posted on his personal blog, Rose described the new iPod Nano as way thinner and longer than the current version, with a larger screen.

Steve Jobs is not only expected to announce some changes to the iPod line, but also to come up with some new Mac details for the fans. It still remains unclear whether such an event will indeed take place; however, Apple is known to keep September as a special month for announcements.

Although Rose’s predictions may not be always accurate (we all know he went a little too far with his iPhone predictions), the chances for the Apple event to take place seem to be pretty big. But I guess we’ll just have to wait a few more weeks until we get at least the partial confirmation of Rose’s predictions.
